Dr. Chen is an assistant professor at the CNMC and George Washington University.  She received her DVM at the National Taiwan University, Taiwan, and PhD of pathology/molecular genetics at the University of Missouri-Columbia.  Her post-doctoral training in Dr. Eric Hoffman’s laboratory at the National Children’s Medical Center focused on molecular mechanisms of Duchenne muscular dystrophy.  Currently, Dr. Chen's research involves dissecting molecular mechanisms of muscle hypertrophy, atrophy and pathological changes in muscle diseases, including Duchenne muscular dystrophy, facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy and juvenile dermatomyositis.
